Welcome to St Andrew's Castle Civil Ceremonies
Something a little different
The Venue
St Andrew’s Castle is nestled and tucked away in the heart of the historic market town of Bury St Edmunds Suffolk.
As you approach the sweeping driveway, you are greeted with a unique heritage asset, St Andrew’s Castle.
A striking 19th Century Grade II* listed building, with its proud towers, turrets and castellations was built circa 1823. An impressive entrance with original tiled flooring entices you towards the vaulted ceiling, pointed arched doorways, magnificent fireplace and graceful staircase.
All civil ceremonies can be held in either of our two beautiful rooms.
Our civil ceremonies are only licenced for weekends and bank holidays. Onsite parking provided.
Stunning and Memorable
The Library and The Edmund are perfect for intimate ceremonies, each having their own individual features and characteristics. Once you have an idea of how many guests you would like for your civil ceremony, we suggest that you arrange to pop in, to help decide which is the most suitable.
The library with handsome, rich oak panelling and a beautiful stained-glass window can accommodate up to a maximum of 50 guests.
The Edmund with a ribbed plaster ceiling in Jacobean style with shuttered window can accommodate up to a maximum number of 30 guests.
Both rooms include white seat coverings and champagne sashes to complement any colour scheme. Our stunning gold ceremony chairs, featured in the period drama 'Victoria', add a touch of class to your special occasion. The adjoining room is also included to serve your celebratory drinks. Both rooms are situated on the ground floor and are disabled friendly.
We have plenty of photo opportunities in and around St Andrews Castle for making memories.
